The DLW Database, from research done in the Allegheny Valley History by CWM, notes that Henry W. WINGARD was born about 1804 and married Sarah FRY, who was born about 1802 and died 24 APR 1864. MAF found them in the 1850 census for Cranberry Township of Venango County, Pennsylvania and in the 1860 census for Cornplanter Township of the same county.
Federal Census Research conducted by ALW48 confirms the above mentioned Federal Census work. HVC records a Henry and Sarah (FRY) WINGER in a biographical sketch of William LOOTS on pages 874 and 875. Their offspring are listed as Samuel, Solomon, Henry, Jeremiah, Josiah, William, Susan, Lucinda, Sara J. and Mary. The one not mentioned is Adam, the youngest, born in 1848. Current research only shows him in the aforementioned 1850 census. He cannot be found in subsequent years, at least not in the Federal Census.
At this point our project begins to conflict with the current listing in the DLW Database for two of this fifth generation. First, Susan WINGER is listed as third born instead of first born as we have it. Please refer to the Susan WINGER Research Project for why we believe the birth order should be updated. Second, the Henry WINGER listed above who was born in 1833, is not listed as the father of our sixth generation. Please refer to the Henry WINGER 1833/1834 Research Project for why we believe this relationship should be updated as well. With this family history project in mind as a whole, the link for the Henry WINGER listed above, for now, leads to the sixth generation of Lazarus WENGER that is our family line.
