It can not be seen too clearly but the two shiney metal things sitting on top of the bumper behind me were what I was trying to get a picture of. It is about three inches in diameter. One part is a shaft and the other part is the "nut" for it. It was made on the LeBlond and it had a square thread like the picture on the right. It was some kind of hitch for the back of a vehicle I believe. In any case, I had never made one before. It had taken me a few days to make and I was very proud of what I had done. That type of work was what I was there for, to make parts from scratch that they couldn't get through supply channels quick enough. It was a challenge. I loved it. And I would do it again, in a heartbeat, if I were a younger man :-) |
