Company Area Pictures - page 3
Never can forget Shexnayder. He was a Cajun from "Weezianna." Sometimes when he spoke that Cajun at me he might have been smiling but what he was saying probably wasn't something nice. But we were okay :-) | Wilson is on the left. Rhodes is on the right. Tech Supply is the next hooch down. In between the two is the back end of the covered movie screen/theater that we had in the company area. The banana trees on the left are the same ones you see on the left in Randy Vogel's picture of the 560th Showers. I chomped into one of those bananas once, expecting they would be like the ones back home. Wrong!. The seeds in them were so big I thought I had busted a tooth :-) |
The mother of this puppy came walking into our hooch not too long before she gave birth. It was something to watch how she took care of this puppy. She would lick up anything it left behind on the floor - And the puppy's behind :-) I have another picture somewhere of this pup being given a bath in the shop's radiator repair water tank. It just might be that the father of this pup is this one on the right. That picture is from Don Auffhammer's collection on the 5th Maintenance Facebook site. The title of the picture is "560th Mascot 1969-70." Hope you don't mind me borrowing it Don. The mother, if I remember correctly, was a light brown like the body of the pup, but all over. The pup looks like it has the facial markings of the father on the right. If someone can clarify this for us, please do. |
