Shop Pictures - page 1

Inside the larger Service Section shop the Machine Shop was a smaller area that was closed in with plywood walls and a locking dutch door. One of the machines was a Sheldon Bench Lathe.  In the picture, on the left of yours truly, it is covered in plastic to keep the dust out. On the right is a better picture of what it actually looked like.  To the left of the Sheldon was a small Shaper for cutting flat metal surfaces and keyways. I don't have a picture so for those not familiar with what a Shaper is, here's a YouTube video of a Shaper in action.
These two pictures are of the LeBlond Gap Bed Lathe that we had in the Machine Shop. For our size maintenance unit we were not really authorized this big of a lathe but it came from somewhere before I got in the unit and we were really glad to have it. We could do all kinds of operations on it that saved us a bunch of time.
