Playing horse shoes on a warm day. The mess hall is all the way in the back. Sorry. Need some help again - please!  Who are they? :-)
On the Left: The one in the front smiling is Caldwell [sp?]  He was from Oil City, PA and he knew all my Winger kin up on the hill where my Dad grew up.  He worked on Engineer equipment. One night sappers hit the fuel tank farm. The top of the tank that had the JP4 jet fuel in it went sky high. I'll never forget that explosion. Caldwell took a bulldozer down to the tank farm to help contain the fires. He had burns on the front of him from being so close to the heat of the flames. That's the latrine in the background with the light inside. The shop area is way up behind that and to the left. On the Right: Here's another one of that Wrecker operator. I want to say that his nickname was Tiny. In any case you can get an idea here of how we had to keep our areas maintained in the hooch.  We kept our M-16s and ammo locked up inside the wall lockers [tall one on the right]. That was when I first got there. Then one night one of the guys got drunk and shot up the company area, not hurting anybody or anything. Then the weapons and ammo went into an Arms Room in the same building as the Orderly Room.  It was a little scary responding to alerts after that [slower getting what you needed to defend yourself].
